BELLA is our 2006 Cruiser 460 Express and 3 1/2 years ago when we decided to do the Loop, we knew that she was the vessel that we would be taking. This is our 12th summer boating with her. She is 46' long and her beam is 14'. She has two state rooms and two heads and a nice size galley and salon. Hopefully she is big enough for when Tom and I need some alone time from each other this next year ;)
People always ask us why we named her BELLA. She is actually BELLA II and she and BELLA I, got their names from Tom's mom, Ella, who passed away 16 years ago. In 2000, we decided to buy a boat. We'd never even had a row boat and we decided to get a "cabin on the water" and purchased a 40' Gibson house boat. Yup, go big or go home. After taking possession, the boys in my family named our vessel, Daytripper, of course after the Beatles. Tom's mother wasn't in agreement with our new houseboat's moniker and suggested we name her Bella. And she suggested/encouraged this several times.......
After she passed away we purchased a used 2001 Cruisers 3870 Express that had already been named. We knew that we needed to buy this boat when we looked at it because not only did we like it, we loved her name......BELLA. We knew it was a sign from Ella. We purchased BELLA 1 and enjoyed her for four years before we decided to get another Cruisers and when we did, there was no doubt her name would be BELLA.
